Good morning. Happy Sunday!
What is the nature of reality? What is real?
Do we live in a holographic universe? Is it only a dream? Do we in fact create reality as we go?
As an observer, in the act of observing and expectation, are we in fact influencing and creating the world around us?
Does the world around us actually reflect portions of ourselves? Do we live in a mirror where our thoughts and attitudes manifest in our reality?
Interesting thoughts. I have been reading a lot of articles this past week on the nature of reality. I'm not sure what I believe at this point, but I do think we have some capability and therefore culpability in the creation of our own personal reality. It seems plausible that the Universe is indeed reflecting back at us everything we put forth. A lot of spiritual texts suggest this is indeed what is happening.
As I wrestle with thoughts of near term human extinction, I realize the only possible way out of this mess is to change reality. So how do we do that?
Can we simply jump into a parallel universe and change places with another self? And then, where does that other self go? Do they come back to this place we want so desperately to leave as we go to theirs? That hardly seems fair. Is there consciousness in other selves? Are there in fact other selves in these parallel worlds? Or, does our self split into infinite personas to live out lives we may have had if indeed we made different choices? Or, does none of it exist until we focus our intent upon it?
Interesting ideas to think about. I'd be inclined to think that we only create the world we are focused on. That includes possible alternative realities. I think there is only one true self, and if it existed on multiple planes, then it would not be the one true self on any of them. And if it was split into many, I think we would be too fractured inside to function with any real purpose and just wander in endless confusion as our multiple pieces tried to reconnect.
Of course the science is still out on most of these theories, but if indeed we create all possible realities only as we focus on them, we have to be careful what we give our attention to.
In the Unified Field of Consciousness Theory, we are all connected on another plane, the God plane or the field of pure potential or whatever you might call it. Carl Jung thought we shared archetypes across the human species, based upon this idea of a shared human consciousness. This follows along the idea that we are all One, and every single thing we do, thoughts included, affects the Whole. If this is indeed possible, are we not destroying the planet and the human race (and other species) by culturally focusing on negative things? What exactly do the violent images we continue to create in our stories (movies, writings, games) do to the Unified Field of Consciousness?
As we hold images and ideas in our minds individually, they also reflect upon the Field of Pure Potential, creating the world as we know it. And it is in a sad state indeed.
As I ponder all of these fascinating subjects, I am searching for a way out of the current human dilemma, looking for another path to follow, another way to think and focus my intentions upon the world I wish to see and experience.
Perhaps it is a shift in consciousness which would allow me to subtly step into another dimension where hate, war and climate catastrophe are not happening.
Perhaps it is continuing along this trajectory, hoping more people awaken to their true selves and release the negativity that pervades the people of our planet. This of course would involve letting go of ego and all of the entertainment and ideas that contributes to the separation of self from the Whole. Many spiritual masters are on this path to help humanity awaken and realize the power each person holds within to make a vast difference in how it all turns out. If indeed enough of us (100 monkey theory) can awaken and begin to awaken those around us, it will affect change upon the Field Of Consciousness thus that things have to change in the reality we experience.
No matter what happens, we have to be aware enough to make the decision to be the change. And we can't do that if we are engrossed in the trivial pursuits of Western Culture which by default are designed to keep us stuck in the current paradigm and stuck on the current path of human and planetary destruction.
If we want to save ourselves and the beautiful planet we live on, including all of the animal and planet species we share our home with, we have to decide to do so. It has to be a conscious decision and our daily choices must reflect that paradigm shift.
It is not easy to let go of that which no longer serves us, whether that be people, places, things or situations. But we must. We have to let all things go that no longer serve the shared vision of a peaceful, green Utopia.
Perhaps the real problem is that people don't want this Utopian world. That is hard to believe, but in fact may be a result of ego control. People may be so lost in ego and the contaminants of the world that they simply can no longer think, let alone awaken to their true selves and the endless possibilities this awakening brings.
Well, it is what it is. I, however, choose to walk a different path, and hope that there are those who would walk with me towards a better reality. If we can get enough thought focused on the beautiful reality we wish to see and participate in, it will manifest as a result of our intended focus.
Will you join me? It may be our only hope.
Love to all.

Happy Winter Solstice (12.21.14)
Good morning. Happy Sunday! Happy Winter Solstice!
The great thing about today is the days will start getting longer, and that is something to celebrate! Not with stuff. Turning this day into a psuedo Christmas excuse to buy and give lots of gifts is a mistake. Instead, celebrate life and Mother Earth and the abundance that comes to us every single day in the way of food, shelter and water. A lot of people don't even have that.
Let's think about what is really important as we leave the dark days behind us. Too bad in reality, the dark days are still to come as far as the collapse of civilization and the coming extinction of thousands more species. Is our stuff that important? Do we need one more gift? What about those holiday cards? Are they necessary? How many trees do we lose to cards and gift wrapping?
And yet we have to find some joy in our lives in spite of the anticipatory grief of the dark days to come. As many people are saying now, live in the present. Enjoy the now. Live with passion. Give up that which does not serve the higher self. Make memories with people you love. Isn't that what life should be about anyway?
When we choose to live in a simpler way, without all of the new gadgets and pretty, shiny stuff, we find ourselves in the company of our soul, and that is an amazing experience. As we meditate on our place in the web of life, we feel the connection to All That Is, and we begin to understand the huge error mankind has made in its need for economic growth. We also begin to realize that none of it matters anyway.
In our life journey, we can choose to open ourselves up to a spiritual path, or not. It is a choice. We can choose to live in love and kindness, not only for other people, but also for ourselves and all of life on Earth, and indeed for the Earth itself.
Our lives our of our own making. Certainly it seems better to choose to do the best one can, to try in every aspect to awaken those around us and live in a sustainable way in reverence of our Mother Earth. But this too is a choice.
Either way, regardless of the endless choices and many paths, we all get there one day. We all die.
So, celebrate today on this Winter Solstice. Spring is coming! It is. Live each day as if it is the last and make someone happy. Share the love.
Let us turn this darkness into light as we open ourselves to new realities. And who knows, if enough people get on the same wavelength, the same frequency, the same energetic vibration--as a Unified Consciousness, we may be able to change the outcome of the sad story of the human race.
Happy Day!
Love to all.

If all else fails, try again (12.14.14)
Good morning. Happy Sunday.
My mind is numb with the strange happenings of the world. The people around me...the country I live in...
Everyone is stuck in their story. I am too.
We live in an ego driven world and our culture is extremely predatory. It would seem that most people are content in their consumerist and materialistic lives, but even those who step outside of that mindset do so only for the briefest of moments before they fall back into the same old ways of dealing with each other and the world. Predatory.
This week we have been exposed to the "torture reports" or the details of the CIA interrogation techniques to try to get information out of supposed terrorist suspects. It doesn't work, but the torture continues. I have to ask, collectively, are we even human? Is it human nature to hurt others? I suppose it is, really. It seems a lot of folks get a lot of joy or hidden satisfaction out of hurting other beings.
There comes a time when you have to rise above the tendency to disregard other life as you live your own. If we are to evolve spiritually we must rethink our behaviors and our thought patterns. We have to change the paradigm.
On a personal level, this is a difficult task for me as well, as am caught up in my own story as so many people are.
Some of the nation is reacting to police brutality by protesting in the streets of major cities against the grand jury decisions not to indict two police officers who killed two unarmed black men. Regardless of their alleged crimes, these two black men did not deserve to have their lives taken from them in such a manner. It draws our attention to the fact that the police officers of this country are individual people too, with issues of their own. Sometimes better judgement is lost in moments of fear, and sometimes people are just downright wrong in their actions. I am proud some people of this country are standing up to this injustice. That is the way it should be. The voices of the oppressed should be heard. Those lost lives should be acknowledged. They matter.
Our country has been on track to becoming a police state for some time now. The injustices perpetrated against the unarmed black men on the city streets are not uncommon. In fact these incidents are more common than not and becoming the norm for people of color, including Latino and Native American as well as African American. I am a white woman, and I am afraid of the police. The men and women behind the badges are unpredictable. We all have a right to be cautious.
I fail to understand the racist side of this argument. I fail to understand the "cop" side of this. It would seem to me that when the police shoot first and ask questions later, they are indeed playing into some vigilante method of justice that is supposed to be illegal in this country. Therein lies the problem. This country has not been a democracy based on freedom of the people for a long time. Slowly those freedoms are being eroded in the name of fear and progress, and people are becoming pawns in this country, and perhaps even in the world, as the people in higher positions of power move the sheeple around to fit their own needs and ends.
We are not in control anymore, if we ever were. We live under the delusion that we have some kind of say in how our country is run. We don't really. The people with the badges have the authority to gun us down in the street. This authority has been given to them by a higher level of corruption that we can't even begin to understand. What is the outcome of this evilness, this vile behavior to prey on the people of the world?
By not seeking to examine the individuals who are responsible through their very actions for torturing and killing unarmed human beings, are we not essentially telling ourselves and the rest of the world that this behavior is okay? I only include myself in this because ultimately we are all One, and your behavior is my behavior. It makes me sick inside to think of these ego driven people who seem to have no connection to their soul, what-so-ever, these people who hurt others as their chosen profession, these people who explain their actions away for whatever reason. It is a disease of a very sick ego driven and predatory world.
I want no part of this. None. So when a member of my family disowns me because I choose to stand with the oppressed people, it makes my heart ache inside. I don't understand how someone could align themselves with a pattern of thinking that allows the killing of unarmed people to be dismissed as legitimate behavior. But, it is what it is. Where do we draw the line? Where do I draw the line? How can I pretend and be civil in the face of blatant racism? How can I pretend this isn't happening?
And when another member of my family attends a family function of people who refuse to even acknowledge that people of diversity exist (including me), how can I pretend it's okay? How do I close my eyes to the blindness of society that says in most moments people can be excused for their unthinkable behaviors because they do not know better.
"Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do," said Jesus.
I am not religious by any means. But most of these other people are -- these people who go to church and then come out of those doors full of righteousness; Those people who kill other people in the line of duty; Those people who treat others who are different as less than human.
If I do not stand up and say ENOUGH, am I not the same as them? Am I to sit idly by as these "good" people destroy humanity and the planet we live on? And if these people are my "family" does that mean I am required to be quiet and play along in the name of politeness? As long as we don't talk about anything meaningful, then we can go on pretending it isn't happening and that our own behaviors are not contributing to the problem. NOT.
I have been "feeling" a lot this week. The voices of the spiritual world are constantly reminding me that we live in an ego driven world of hypocrisy. I know I live there too. I am having the hardest time not judging those who are controlled and driven entirely by their ego story as I watch civilization crumble around me.
I am trying hard to remember that the world is my mirror and all of this horror exists within me and reflects outward into my reality.
I don't have much to say about how to deal with this because I am at a loss. I offend those around me by speaking out against the horrors I see. No one wants to take responsibility for their own part in this mess. As I speak out, so then I judge. But how can I not speak out? How can I not judge?
And they too are me.
My mind is numb. I can only seek to separate myself so that my vision remains clear. As I meditate and find love within for those parts of me that are in pain, that love will begin to heal.
Love. It is of a higher vibration. It is what holds the Universe together. It is the energy underlying the rest. It is Creator/God/Goddess. Love.
Let us take a deep breath of unified love and settle into a moment of peace. We must remember. We have to rise above our stories and our egos and vibrate on a higher level if we are to create lasting change.
Let us help each other to remember. Each day, all we can do is try again.
Love to all.

Spiritual tools (12.7.14)
Good morning. Happy Sunday.
Ever had an experience that just felt icky? Ever been in the presence of someone and just felt like you had to get away from them? Conversely, you might feel pulled to certain places and people, or experience a feeling of peace or bliss when in certain situations. I've been experiencing more of these types of events lately.
Those feelings are part of an internal guidance system called intuition. And when those feelings arise, I listen. I didn't always listen to my gut, but over the years, I have learned to trust my higher self to guide me in particular situations. If I quiet ego long enough, I can hear the voice of spirit, which tells me which direction to go, whom to trust and what people to allow into my inner circle of loved companions. Life is better when I listen. I miss a lot of unnecessary "lessons" when I pay attention to that inner voice.
It seems as the world dissolves into a more chaotic state, my inner voice of reason, my intuition, is getting louder. I don't think this is by chance alone. I strongly believe the spirits are guiding me, keeping me safe, which I suspect they have always done. It is only very recently that the volume has been turned up and I have started to hear all sorts of interesting things. Let's say the spirit world is talking and I'm tuned in like a radio receiver. I don't always get words. Sometimes I get images, feelings and dreams. Sometimes I deliberately journey into that world and receive interesting premonitions that help me make better choices as I navigate this strange world.
I don't think this spirit connection is so unusual. It used to be the norm to our ancestral peoples. It would appear that more and more people are "waking up" and connecting to their spiritual selves and the abilities that are inherent in all of us. I believe that the Universe/Creator is helping us to adapt to a quickly changing world, and those of us who tune in and listen will be better equipped to deal with the coming changes.
It would appear that our environment is becoming more dangerous, simply because the climate is changing and people are changing. People are becoming more and more desperate as the world becomes a place they no longer recognize. The economy is still failing. In my opinion, the evidence would seem to suggest that the United States is on the verge of total collapse, which will send the rest of the world into a tailspin. As a country, we can no longer sustain the consumerism that has been brainwashed into our mainstream masses. Civilization as we know it is coming to an end. As a world we are on the verge of additional climate catastrophe. Something has to give.
Adaptation is key. We have to change to fit the changing world. That means we use all of the tools at our disposal (and no, I don't believe guns are tools). I do, however, believe that part of human evolution is spiritual evolution, which has nothing to do with religion. If religion is part of your framework, that's your thing, as long as you don't let the dogma cloud your spiritual reasoning. The spiritual path is very important as we face the challenges to come.
There is a reason why we are now awakening to these "tools" of spirit. These tools are not new, they are just underutilized and most of us are way out of practice using them. Perhaps you have noticed your own intuition becoming fine tuned, or you are hearing/feeling the spirits. Maybe you are having premonitions. Trust those things. They are gifts. Examine and evaluate them by all means, but take ego out of it and allow your higher self to make the final decisions.
Our ancestral spirits will help us and guide us as we walk this delicate path into an unknown future. We must honor and respect our guides and the help they offer. There are many spirits with us, and they are with us for a reason. Some protect us. Some offer us their wisdom and guidance. Open yourself to them. Listen. Meditate on connecting to your higher self and the messages will come to you.
How will you know when the messages come? How can we separate spirit messages from ego talk?
Spirit always guides us in the direction of love and compassion. Ego pushes us in the direction of self. Sometimes those things work together, but most often they don't. When we are competing or acting out of selfish ends, that is ego driving and our true self is once again asleep at the wheel. Ego is a tricky thing. Training yourself to be aware of it is important as you tune into the signals from the spirit world. Navigating the rough times ahead will be that much easier if we embrace our spiritual tools and learn how to use them.
Recognize your new awakening self and learn to use your abilities. Remember. It was always within you and it still is. Trust in your higher self.
Namaste.
Love to all.

Darkness descending (11.30.14)
Good morning. Happy Sunday!
Do we live in love or fear? Do we live in separatism or in unity? Do we value people or stuff? Is it our ego or our higher self that guides us? Something to consider as we spend more cold days inside, hopefully taking some time to meditate on who we are.
There is an air of desperation descending over the planet like a soft, dark cloak. I feel it in subtle ways as I interact with individuals and realize that nothing can come between people and protecting their own. Evolutionarily speaking, that is perfectly normal as we tend to subconsciously strive to do anything possible to get our DNA into the future. People appear to be in the process of forming clans or tribes, which in fact may be the only way to survive the coming dark times. This is, however, going against the norms of socialization that has been the predominant way of life at least in the United States for the past 60 or so years. The celebrated nuclear family is falling apart in many cases and giving way to people who either spend their lives primarily alone or people who create new "families" through friendship and extended family relations.
It may very well be these extended groups of close knit people that will be able to work together in survival mode as the economic collapse continues. This is great, and if these tribes could then work with other tribes in a system of reciprocity, we might just make it (if the earth doesn't heat up enough to kill all life).
But what happens when you don't find your tribe? What happens if your clan is more about hate than love? There is a lot of isolation and separatism happening in the modern world. Why?
Our country is dividing along racial lines over the Ferguson issue. (Maybe this line has always been there.) Or perhaps the dividing line is cops versus the rest of the public. There is no doubt (except to those who identify with the police) that the militarization of the police and the incidents of police brutality, which are on the rise, is creating a chasm of division in our culture that is resulting in violent outbursts of fear and righteousness.
This fear is causing people to arm themselves against each other, against opposite ideas. Everyone seems to need a gun to protect themselves from the "others."
There is also a division of the have and have nots. And that division is getting larger. There is certainly a small portion of our world that has most of the money, and in fact, they influence and "control" most everything else, including the militarized police.
But, that attitude, trickles down into the rest of the world, where people still believe that if they acquire more, they will somehow be able to reach the levels of power and respect they see those with the money have. It is subtle. And most people would deny that they participate in this mindset. Some people in fact have stepped out of this system to live with independent ideas (Buddhist monks for example), but this is not the norm or the thinking of the mainstream. So, you have something I don't, and perhaps I want that thing too (let's use the common example of food), but you are only going to share a little, or none, because you have to protect your own. You begin to defend your food with violent means (guns) if necessary, and hoard more and more to make sure you and your "clan" survive as the world gets crazier and crazier. After all, why should you share?
Those who have a little bit more than those who don't start judging those without as being lazy and worthless and.... Meanwhile, those who don't have start judging those who do as being selfish and greedy and....
The division grows. The anger grows. The violence grows.
This is what our country, the United States of America is coming to. We have a lot of corrupt systems who are mostly for profit. Violence is a means to an end. The government we trust to help those without is also so corrupt that, in fact, they have turned into for profit entities funded by the higher ups (the 1%) who control them. There are quotas with dollar values placed on certain people, although these organizations would be quick to deny such. Think prison or human services child protective agencies. And some of those people get killed as a result of being forced, perhaps violently, into these systems designed to make our society a better place.
The division grows.
Some people have accused me of being angry, of my energy changing, and I agree that this has indeed occurred as the holidays set in. It happens every year as I see people step outside of themselves in the name of consumerist holidays to shop and shop, regardless of their own personal impact on the planet, or humanity as a whole. Because it comes back to the "clan" or taking care of our own. And violence seems to be the norm as people defend their right to defend. I feel a lot of frustration as I watch these divisions grow.
Unfortunately, we have to look at the bigger picture here, which most people are too blinded by the pretty lights and chasing of things to even notice.
All lives do matter, regardless of age, race, gender, economic worth, or whatever other divisions we have come up with to keep humanity separated. The isolation must end. We must unite as One.
The dark times are upon us now. Not only as we suffer through short, cold days, but as we look around us and see what humanity has come to. There are many divisions among the people, and they are growing.
There is fear, which most people are living in, and there is love, which most people aspire to but can't quite shed the fear enough to get there. I am no different. I struggle on a daily basis to remember that all people are a part to the Whole, that all people are a reflection of me. This mundane life I live does not lead itself to being spiritually aware all of the time. Ego exists and ego thrives on separation and fear.
As I try to protect my children from the insanity around me, at the same time I know it is futile. As I try to find my tribe of like minded people, I realize without global cooperation it is a lost cause. We will never be able to overcome the fear of the masses. This is the dark shadow that is settling around our Mother Earth like a second skin. It is this fear that will destroy us and the planet we live on. Fear.
So, as we struggle through another year of consumerist driven holidays, let us try to remember that we are more than the ego, more than our stuff, more than a human. We are spiritual beings, and when we release our ego driven fear, we just might recognize the spirit within that other person, even that misguided human who stands before us with a gun, so possessed by their own fear, that they are willing to kill us. Inside somewhere is the spirit that is a part of us. We are all One. Some of us just can't see it yet.
I renounce the fear. Every single day, I begin again, because it is a spiritual journey, and as I step away from fear and ego, my heart opens a little bit more and is able to express love out into the world. It is love that heals individual souls and will ultimately heal the planet. Love. We have to let go of the fear, in spite of the cruelty of individuals and the cruelty of groups. We have to learn to love. As a HUMAN RACE we have to make love our source of energy and our exchange. Love is the answer.
Love to all.
~Rev. Kerry
Do we live in love or fear? Do we live in separatism or in unity? Do we value people or stuff? Is it our ego or our higher self that guides us? Something to consider as we spend more cold days inside, hopefully taking some time to meditate on who we are.

Disconnect (11.23.14)
Good morning. Happy Sunday!
Ever have those moments when you realize who you are is so at odds with most of the culture you live in? Ever feel disconnected from the world around you?
I think we all have these moments. I think this disconnect allows us to find our own truth in our separation from everything happening around us. Sometimes we have to step back, step away from the mundane world and take a look at things. We can ask ourselves..."is this the reality I want to create?"
Our lives encompass every inner aspect of our own stuff. Take it or leave it. As soon as we recognize all that is going on outside of us that we do not like, we can look inside and see if we can find the corresponding thoughts and feelings that created our current reality.
It is not easy. Especially acknowledging that that thing we don't like in someone else...it's in us too. For example, while I may abhor guns and see no need for gun ownership, there is something inside of me that still speaks in the language of fear that only gun owners can hear. Otherwise, this would not be reflected in my own world.
I can push those people out of my life, so I don't have to look at them, or hear about their gun escapades, but it still exists within me. So, as I stand in my disconnection, I have to acknowledge that I too have a gun problem, and I need to figure out why.
Perhaps my fear is of those with guns, the government with big guns, and this continuing and pervasive need in the American culture to perpetuate control through violence. My fear is that, as a people, we will never find peace if we continue to focus on weapons as a means to solve our problems.
But how does that relate to me? How does that reflect my own issues? What are my weapons that I will not lay down? What am I fighting to control? What stands between me and peace?
These are questions that I have to meditate on. While I do not condone killing machinery, I have to examine myself to see how I hurt others in my need to have power and control. Maybe through words. Maybe my words keep me from achieving the peace I long for. Perhaps my words are as devastating to some as bombings are to others (probably not, but I'm trying to find the reflection here.).
What I am trying to explore here, is my discontent and disconnect with others and how that is really my issue and not theirs. We are All One. Sometimes I have a hard time seeing it or feeling it. It is something I work on. My disconnection only highlights something within that needs to be healed.
Once we discover whatever it is that is bothering us, we have an opportunity to grow within our own selves as we come to terms with our truth.
Does that mean that people who have different beliefs from me will disappear? Not really. Tolerance goes a long way to creating peace, but we do not have to be tolerant of that which might kill us, that is absurd. Everyone is throwing around this idea of tolerance, and respecting other people and their differences, but really? As long as they are not hurting me or infringing on my rights, they can do whatever they want...that's a common belief these days. But really?
So, contrary to popular thought, I'm going to disregard tolerance as an effective means to change the world.
I can't see how respecting a child molester's belief systems will benefit anyone, especially the children. I do not tolerate the bombing of innocent humans for any cause, even though others believe this practice is okay, and perhaps necessary in promoting peace. That is definitely at odds with my own truth.
I am allowed to discover my own path to inner peace, as is everyone else. As I examine myself, and heal those things inside that are creating the world around me, those things will not necessarily disappear, but they will fade away. Those issues will no longer be directly in front of me, because I create what I believe.
It is difficult at best to let go of that which does not serve the higher good. Our culture feeds on fear and domination, and to find people who do not buy into mainstream thought patterns is a rare thing indeed.
So, it's okay to feel disconnected. Perhaps it's even a good thing. It is your consciousness waking up and realizing that your spirit does not want to be involved with the status quo. Your spirit knows there are better ways. Listen to you higher self. Go within and heal that which hurts and you will find that the outside world begins to reshape itself around the love you find inside.
We may feel disconnected to the mundane world around us, but we are always connected to our higher selves, our spirit, the Universe, God, if we open ourselves to that connection. The disconnect from people around us allows us the quiet we need to meditate on the reality we want to create.
Everything will turn out fine. "Change your thoughts, change your life." -Wayne Dyer
After all, this journey is ultimately a spiritual one and the physical world is secondary--a construct of our own beliefs.
Love to all.

What are we willing to give up? (11.16.14)
Good morning. Happy Sunday.
When our emotions run rampant, we have an opportunity to learn from them, and from ourselves.
We can use emotional moments to discover who we really are and our reactions to others tell us a lot.
Can we stand firm in our belief systems and embrace our own truths while being attacked by those who disagree?
What is it that really matters?
I personally believe in making the world a better place, and that includes promoting peace and peaceful living as well as healing and living in harmony with our Mother Earth.
I'd like to think most people agree, but when it comes right down to it, do people really want to give 110% to create a sustainable world?
What are we willing to give up to make the world a better place? Does that fit within our current belief systems, and if not, are we willing to change our beliefs or adopt a new system? Are we willing to accept a new paradigm? Things have to change drastically if humanity is to survive. We have to make personal sacrifices or at the very least make personal choices that result in more sustainable and peaceful living.
Are our actions living up to the standard of our beliefs? In addition to talking the talk, do we walk the walk?
How can we do anything but our very best in striving to create the best life, the best legacy to leave to our children?
Perhaps it is not time for society to embrace the necessary steps to save the Earth. Perhaps we as a species are finished and nothing anyone can do or say will matter one way or another. (Not even my personal rants against consumerism and weapons.)
It is ironic how angry people get when you suggest they abandon the beliefs that are causing world destruction. It is not that I intend to offend, just suggest that these belief systems are a major part of the problem as far as our planet survivability is concerned.
Why are people not getting angry about the destruction of the air, the water, the poisoning of the food? Why are people not getting angry about being the puppets of the corporatocracy, brainwashed to consume more and buy, buy, buy all in the name of so called holidays?
Why are people not getting angry where it really matters? Why is it that discussing gun ownership brings people to violent reactions? Makes me wonder if the weapon ownership is a result of underlying violence anyway. How does a person claim to be a person of peace while fighting so hard for the ownership of weapons?
As a culture, as a people, who are we? Who are we that we would choose to defend our rights to have weapons instead of laying down those weapons in a unified stand for peace?
Who are we that we would tell ourselves that we love our planet, that we care, as we continue to travel the world on our vacations, as we continue to consume at an alarming rate, as we continue to build unsustainably, as we continue to drive our gas eating machines around...all in the name of progress.
I'm not buying it. The hypocrisy is overwhelming.
If we expect to live beyond the year of 2050 (which is now a conservative estimate of when the planet will no longer sustain human life) we have to do better than this.
We can't continue killing each other for resources. We can't continue to use these resources as if they never end. We have to keep carbon in the ground if we are to have any kind of chance for future survival. In order to do that it becomes necessary to give up the consumerist life, but also the consumerist attitude. It becomes necessary to view one another as a part of ourselves, to lay down our weapons and instead embrace each other with compassion and love.
If we are not willing to take the steps, we must at least admit we are choosing to be a part of the destruction of humanity and the destruction of our home planet.
It may become necessary to take a stand...people or profit? Humanity or consumerism? Earth first or ego first?
Which side are you on? What are you willing to do to make a real difference?
Love to all.

Competition (11.9.14)
Good morning. Happy Sunday!
Let's talk about competition. Is it good or bad?
In the American culture, and perhaps most westernized societies, we grow up thinking competition is a healthy thing to have and to foster in our young. Isn't that what makes people strive to be better? Competition?
But is it really such a healthy thing?
What if we were to look at competition in another light. What if we could see competition for what it really is, another form of separatism? What if we recognized that every time we participate in competition with another we are forgetting that we are all One.
This tradition of competing against others for everything is not going to make our world a better place. On the contrary. Isn't it competition...global competition...that creates war? Competing for resources. Competing in religious dogma. Competing for power. Competing in weapons. Competing in...well, you get the idea, I hope.
It starts at a very early age. My baby spoke at 1 year. Her talented child walked at ten months. And his two year old already speaks a foreign language. Why is this necessary? Why does it matter? What are we trying to prove?
It's all about the competition. If we can help our children succeed early in life, which usually means somehow being better than those around them, then they are ahead in the game of life. They have the tools they will need in a competitive world. They will make it. They will survive. The more they win, the more successful they become.
Isn't this the predominant message in our society? Competition is what it's all about. Who is smarter, thinner, richer, prettier...who has the best job, who makes the most money and who has the most stuff? I guess they win. But what do they win?
Happiness? Satisfaction?
This need and drive to compete has blinded us to what really matters. We can't even begin to build a meaningful, sharing community without taking a long hard look at what role we are playing in the competition game.
While we may think we are fair and just and act humanely, if we take a closer look, we will see it, the negative traits of competition: jealousy, low self-esteem, righteousness, elitism, separatism...
It all comes back to them against us. When we get right down to it, we don't really want to share our resources anymore than anybody else. Do we? When we are all struggling just to get by it becomes very difficult to take another look at our own behavior, and really examine what is going on.
But, it does not have to be this way. We don't have to be competitive. In fact the more we release the need to compete, the easier it gets. If we don't, I'm afraid humanity is doomed.
As we clutch our resources closer, and fight off potential enemies, we are driving the competitive machine. We have forgotten that we are all in this together, that we are all One. We all live and breath and share the air and water and food. When we fight over these resources, we are creating a world of greed and hatred.
Isn't every living person entitled to clean air, clean water and clean, edible food? Shouldn't that be a human right? When did these simple and basic necessities become commodities? When we started competing and hoarding our resources.
There is a huge error in the human mind. I suffer from it too, quite often. It is the belief in lack. But it doesn't even really exist. It is a construct of the mind, like time.
Abundance is the natural order. The world is filled with abundance, and there really is enough for everyone. If we began to loosen up and let go of those things we feel the need to clutch close to our being, we would see the abundance all around.
There really is enough food to feed everyone on Earth. There is. There is enough space for everyone to live. There is. There is enough.
Unfortunately, there are a few that would have us believe otherwise. They gain at our expense. If they can keep us in competition, we fight for resources, paying more, working harder, and keeping the capitalist/ consumerist machine going, making a few richer and richer while the rest of us continue to struggle to get by.
It isn't necessary.
We can find joy in simplicity. Less is more.
There is joy in sharing the abundance. There is joy in giving extra things to others who need them. Then we have some, and they have some too. And, we just made a friend instead of an enemy.
But what about how hard I worked to get what I have, you might wonder?
Okay. I hope you have everything you need. But, I know you don't. It never ends, this desire to have more, to be better...this competition.
It only stops when we stop it.
It's time.
Love and light to all.

"The world has enough for everyone's needs, but not everyone's greed," --Mahatma Gandhi.

Green weddings and ceremonies
I am thinking of doing green, eco-based weddings, without all the hoopla and consumerism attached to traditional weddings. If this might be something you or your partner are interested in, shoot me an e-mail and we can talk about the logistics of it. At this time, I can only offer this service locally. I will also consider doing other ceremonies as well...baby blessings, rites of passage, etc., but all must have an environmental slant, in keeping with the Eco-Ministry of Green Desert Sanctuary. As an ordained minister, I am qualified to perform all of these ceremonies and more. Let me join you in your green, Earth friendly celebrations of life. I would be honored to be a part of it.

Surrender into What Is and allow the teachings to unfold (11.2.14)
Good morning. Happy Sunday.
This week has been full of lessons, as most weeks are, if we take the time to notice, acknowledge and learn from them. Have you been accepting the gifts the Universe has for you?
I have seen a lot of owls as of late. They are in trees, on top of power poles, flying over fields, and even standing in the road. So I ask myself, what is Owl trying to say to me?
Owl is about discernment, and about seeing or hearing the things people do not say. Owl reminds us that if we stay silent and still for a moment, we may actually see what is really going on in particular situations. So, I tried that. Certainly I have received a lot of intuitions this week, but I'm pretty intuitive to begin with. What was amazing was how things have played out around me, as I tuned into my own feelings about things. It is remarkable how the Universe brings us the right messages at the right times, isn't it? By watching things unfold I learn about myself. The world is my mirror. Who do I want to be?
There have also been a lot of messages about surrendering to what is. It is time to stop fighting life and just let it be. "Go with the flow," as the saying goes. When we stop trying so hard to change things, to make things better, or what have you, and simply let life unfold as it will, the Universe tends to hand us exactly what we need for each given moment. Perhaps we missed it before because we were too caught up in our "struggle" or caught in the clutches of our old nemesis ego.
Relationships can be that way too. As people around me end relationships, or reaffirm their love for one another, I can silently witness the unfolding of simple surrender. In this observation I can realize for myself how my life holds the answers to my own questions. The solutions are in the problems. Or maybe there is no problem at all.
I am lucky and blessed to share space with my small family, who teaches me continuously how to deal with myself. As I tend to them, I tend to me. When I surrender into motherhood, I become the intuitive mother who simply knows what is best for her children. When I surrender into my relationship with my partner, my expectations fall away and I can allow a friendship to be born out of our shared history and common goals. It becomes easier to see the path we walk upon when my vision is not clouded by unnecessary judgement. The past has fallen away and together we can share the current moment, realizing that those people we once were are no longer here. All we have is Now.
Surrender into what is. Practice discernment and choose the life you wish to participate in. It is a choice. When we struggle, the Universe is providing us with opportunities to look again. Perhaps it is time to let go of people and situations that bring negativity into the picture. Perhaps it is time to take a personal inventory and really examine the truth of who we are. Who do we wish to be? Is that the person we present to the world? Are we judging, or even elevating those around us to the point that we miss who they really are? Are we allowing our intuition to guide us so that we can make sound decisions based upon our Spirit's calling?
Give yourself some time away from people and responsibility and allow your inner self to guide you. Your Spirit speaks to you constantly, if you quiet the outside noise enough to hear it. It will never lead you astray. The Universe hands you messages to reaffirm what Spirit is telling you, in case you weren't listening closely enough.
Surrender into yourself and the spiritual being you are. Allow your Soul to guide you. Everything will be just fine.
Love and light to all.

Living Oneness (10.26.14)
Good morning. Happy Sunday!
I hope everyone had a chance to recognize and celebrate Global Oneness Day, which was officially recognized yesterday, but which, in reality, is every day.
Every single moment we have the opportunity to be one with All That Is, including every person and thing around us. If we could recognize our profound connection to one another and to Nature, it would simply be near impossible to inflict harm upon anything without first considering the ramifications to everything else. It is my dream that one day, humanity will reach this state of spiritual evolution.
Until that point, the best we can do is the best we can do. While it may not make a major difference in the state of the planet, both ecologically and socially, it will make a difference in our own lives if we decide to live in a manner that is true to spirit and honors all of life and all of Nature. Do the right thing. Live correctly and gently upon the Earth, because you can.
Be the example. Be the change.
As more people begin to recognize themselves in the eyes of others, they too will begin to live in a more sustainable way as they realize that this fine planet is our only home (for now).
Why would anyone choose otherwise?
As we awaken to our own personal power, it becomes more difficult to de-evolve and go back to a way of life that not only did not nurture our spiritual selves, but also did not honor our Mother Earth, Father Sky and all of the Spiritual Universe that surrounds us. We are a part of that Universe -- more so than we are a part of the materialistic world in which we find our human selves.
Recognize yourself in everything. Not just One day, but every day. It is vitally important. As you awaken to Yourself, Humanity awakens to itself. 100 monkeys. As more become aware, we reach critical mass and the majority begins to participate in a spiritual revolution. It is this evolution that has the potential to save humankind as well as this beautiful planet we live on.
Join me. Join One. Acknowledge your part in the web of life. Recognize the pieces as they fit together to create One living, breathing organism --- this great Earth. Allow yourself to open to your Spiritual home of simply being and flowing with the Universal energy (love) that creates and sustains your soul.
Have a great day!

Confrontation and learning (10. 19.14)
Good morning. Happy Sunday!
Know this: You can not change anyone else, you can only change yourself.
I have had a recent personal experience that has brought this all to light again for me. And I have realized that there comes a point when it is certainly okay to stand up for ourselves and our own rights. If we are not hurting anyone and are living within the rights of the laws we have the right to continue to do so. But, how we express ourselves in the face of these confrontations and personal challenges says a lot about who WE are and not so much about who other people are. In reality and in the grand scheme of things, that person does not matter nearly as much as your own reaction and your own growth and spiritual advancement as you go through your life.
As much as we'd like to, when things get tough with those around us, we will never be able to make them change or even see our point of view, in most cases. And they shouldn't. It sure is frustrating though, isn't it?
The people that surround us are our greatest teachers. Not only the people that bring us joy and obvious positive teachings, but all people have something to show us about ourselves. If someone is getting on your nerves, you might ask yourself why? Your reaction to them or their actions is your issue, not theirs. Why are they pushing your buttons? What do you have to learn about yourself?
It is important that you take the time to explore your own feelings and very important that you do not REACT when in a volatile situation. Certainly take the necessary measures to protect yourself and even defend yourself if need be, but do not ever participate in the violence. There is a great form of communication that teaches nonviolence and how to handle yourself in potential violent situations -- how to diffuse the altercation. Nonviolent Communication (NVC). It would do everyone good to explore and possibly learn this method of communication. There are often classes offered around the country to teach the methodology and application of NVC.
In most situations we encounter in our daily life, the people are not particularly violent, but they may be acting contrary to our points of view or what we are trying to accomplish. In these situations, it is helpful to remember the mirror analogy. Everyone around us is a reflection of some part of use. It is our job to determine how another's behaviors or words are also a part of our own behavior and belief system, often when we can't recognize it within ourselves.
When we can see ourselves in those around us, not only do we experience empathy, but we allow ourselves to accept parts of ourselves that we need to work on. Acceptance is the beginning. Acknowledging the issues gives us the doorway to change.
Everything is an opportunity to learn. Every situation and person we meet has the potential to teach us something about ourselves, We can choose to embrace that opportunity to learn or we can avoid and deny that which is within ourselves that we may need to work on.
What is your life telling you? What are the messages? What do you need to recognize and work on within yourself?
Instead of reacting, let us open our eyes and our minds and really see what is being offered in every situation. Perhaps a situation is presenting itself as an opportunity for you to stand up for yourself and say hey, I have rights too. But we can do this in a calm and rational way.
Express love and kindness.
Have a great day!
Love to all.

Another moment of gratitude (10.12.14)
Good morning. Happy Sunday.
Today I would like to focus on gratitude, which we should do often throughout our lives and throughout our days.
Let us give thanks for shelter and food, no matter where we are. When we have a warm place to sleep and enough food to fill our bellies, it is a good day.
Let us find appreciation for clean water to drink, because it is so important that we not take for granted our access to and our ability to have clean drinking water.
Let us find thanks in our very souls for the good people that come into our lives and bless us with their presence for how ever long they stay. Human interactions and relationships are remarkable things, always changing, sometimes unpredictable, but with so much potential to teach us about each other and about ourselves. Everyone is a mirror of who we are, reflecting our good and our bad back at us.
Be grateful for this Blessed planet we call home, our Sacred and Divine Mother Earth, who gives us abundance in the form of life and sustenance every single day. She keeps us grounded and reminds us of our connection to all things natural and the Web of Life, of which we are an intricate part.
Be thankful for the air we breath and grateful if it is clean. Take a few deep breaths of this precious air and remember that this too is threatened by our very way of life. This air carries oxygen into our very core and feeds our cells so that we may continue to enjoy our lives. Perhaps take a moment to think about how we might reduce our carbon foot prints and bring more clean air to our Earth and to the only home we will ever know.
Enjoy and appreciate the creatures and plants around you, be they tame or wild, for they share in this thing we call life on this planet Earth we call home. They are our allies, our friends and our brothers and sisters. Be thankful they are there to share your time and space.
Be ever grateful that you have this opportunity to live and express yourself in this time, that you as a spirit have chosen to inhabit this place and this human body. It is a miracle that we simply live. Enjoy yourself and give and receive love wherever you can. Share of your heart and open your soul so that you might connect with other spirits as they too experience themselves in human form.
I am thankful to be here. I am grateful for friends and family, past and present. I am very appreciative of my home and the wonderful food that we take from our Mother Nature so that we might continue to live and experience this life in this time and space. I am grateful to people who have helped and supported me over the years and I appreciate every single person on this planet simply for the spirit they are inside their human body. I am so lucky to be alive now. I will enjoy every moment of it, good or bad and cherish the time I have to be here in the company of Nature, the animals, the plants, the rocks, the mountains, the rivers and the big sky, and the wonderful people I continue to meet every single day.
Thank you.

3 Lessons this week (10.5.14)
Good morning. Happy Sunday.
This week I have been reminded, once again, of a few important things. We have been moving from our off grid camper situation into a rental house for the winter--which brings me to my first lesson: Simplify.
It's time to let go of some more stuff. I realize this more than ever when I have to move. I have been unpacking boxes, and moving things from storage and the camper, and I realize it's just way too much stuff to keep hauling around. These things clutter up my life. Certainly a lot of our "stuff" is related to homesteading, such as waaaay too many canning jars, which would be great if we could actually fill them one year. Maybe next year we will be blessed with an overly abundant garden. In any case, holding on to stuff just bogs a person down. When you are feeling anchored to your things, like a weight dragging you down, pulling you under with the enormity of it all, it might just be the time to lesson the load. I'm feeling like that now. In order to keep the energy flowing, I have to get rid of some things. By giving things away, or even selling items cheaply, I ensure the energy will flow back to me and provide me with what I need.
The second point of this week is Gratitude. Boy am I ever grateful to have found this rental house that will allow all of our critters. I am even more thankful that it is a well designed passive solar house that needs little to no extra heat. Once again, the sun is providing us with nearly all of the warmth we need. It is amazing and miraculous to have found this wonderful house. I am grateful that my family will be safe and warm this winter. I appreciate this home and all that we do have every single day.
And the third point is Faith. My husband had a significant pay cut this past week, and we are living on the fumes of his old job, hoping the Universe will provide us with the means to afford this rental house and feed our family and all of our critters too. It's been difficult for me, trying to put my fear aside as we move everything we own into this new and temporary space. But as one door closes, yet another opens into a new space in our lives. What will happen next? Will anyone sign up for our recycling service? Can I get my alternative healing practice off the ground? Can I write a little something on the side and sell it? Can I sell some art? Or will one of us really have to go and get some dismal job to make ends meet. Certainly we can and will do this if it becomes necessary. But can we get by without it? It sure is hard to have faith when so much hangs in the balance. And yet, that is exactly what I must do. I have to know that the Universe will provide. So, I will take the step and release my fear, and leave it to the Field Of Pure Potentiality.
Yes, this week has been about lessons, these three specific and personal ones for me, but isn't life always full of lessons? There are so many opportunities that open up for us to learn and grow and expand our consciousness, and these opportunities appear every single day. Sometimes they are camouflaged in what we think are problems, which in fact most times they are, but instead of thinking of them as conflicts or obstacles, we can indeed change our perception so that we are able to see the gifts these moments bring to us. Without these particular incidents or life events, we would not have the opportunity to grow into better and more evolved people.
Thank you Universe for the trials and tribulations that come my way. May I live up to the challenge and face it head on so that I might become who it is I am meant to be.
Good luck with your lessons. Remember to take a second look and see what the Universe is trying to teach you, or what you are trying to teach yourself. For once you have mastered this lesson, you get to move on to the next.
Love to all.

Healing (9.28.14)
Good morning. Happy Sunday.
This morning, I want to talk about healing and the many forms it takes. As I begin a new journey as a healer, available to anyone locally or through distance healing, I wanted to share some of my thoughts on alternative healing traditions.
Having been trained in many traditions of energy healing, I am a firm believer in the power of the body and mind to heal itself with a little help from the Universal Energy Field. This energy is available to everyone, but sometimes it takes a trained outsider to tap into this powerful healing energy and guide it directly to the person who needs it. These healers are gifted energy handlers who become conduits for this energy to travel through them from outside and into the patient or client who has asked for the healing.
Energy healers are capable healers who can help alleviate pain, stress and dis-ease so that (in conjunction with standard medical care) a person is able to begin healing the body, mind and spirit, to bring themselves back to wholeness, which is the natural state of balance for the human state of being.
Herbal remedies may be used by traditional healers who also incorporate energy healing, ritual and massage into their practices. A good place to begin is often with diet. What are you eating that might be creating illness or dis-ease in your systems? A good healer will help you to determine the best place to begin on your path to wellness, peace and joy.
Some healing might take the form of spiritual healing, which can bring a person back into contact with their true self, or spirit, which will guide them back to a healthful state of mind and body.
Other forms of energy and traditional medicine can be utilized in natural healing methodology, including crystal therapies, acupuncture, Reiki, flower medicine, aromatherapy, hypnotherapy, metaphysical healing, EFT, labyrinth healing ceremony...to name a few, which utilize the connection to spirit and mind to bring about a state of healing and peace within the body.
Not all healing results in a total cure of dis-ease, but it may. Instead, these healing practices allow a person access to their inner self, the true healer, so that their spirit can decide and guide them on the best course of action for them individually. The healing comes when a person reconnects with Source and their spiritual self.
The Spirit is the healer within. Always we must go within in order to heal ourselves, not only from bodily ailments, but also from "dis-eases" which affect the mind. Sometimes it is this connection to Spirit, when gained, that allows a person to experience total healing both of mind and body, and a spontaneous healing from a life-threatening illness. Anything at all is possible in the realm of Universal Energy. It is the Field of Potential where we can and are able to create change and a new reality for ourselves, which disallows sickness into our new perception of life.
Do not be afraid to seek out alternative healing treatments. Some people swear by them. You can utilize many of these technique in addition to standard medical care, but do not be afraid to step outside Big Pharma and the mainstream medical complex to find the healing that works best for you. In many cases, adding some alternative healing therapies to your standard medical care can benefit you in many ways, without the negative side effects of adding more prescriptions.
Good health to everyone!
Love to all.

Community (9.21.14)
Good morning. Happy Sunday. Happy Solstice everyone!
What is community and how do you build it?
Community is more than the place you live or the people you see as you drive about and run errands. Community is almost like extended family...some people you know well and some not so well, but you treat them all with respect, kindness and extend help when needed, as they do the same for you.
I have moved around a lot, and I realize that it has only been in the past five years or so that my nuclear family and I began to really experience what community is really about. Is it because we could search for people online?
Is the internet responsible for bringing people together via social media, blogs and websites? It certainly seems easier than ever now to search for local groups in a particular region. This is how we personally find local food co-ops, local organic food producers, farmer's markets, alternative builders and most of our off grid/homesteading wants and needs. The internet. Craigslist has proven invaluable for finding and selling goods, livestock and feed. Sometimes we find ourselves developing neighborhood relationships based around those original exchanges.
Still, I don't think the web is the end all to creating community. Surely we find things in common with members of our Facebook groups, but somehow those online encounters seem less than ideal and leave us wanting more. To me, it seems that it isn't until you actually can meet a person face to face and have a conversation while looking into their eyes that a real connection and possible friendship begins to develop. Until then, aren't they just a voice on the screen?
There is nothing like putting down roots in a place and extending your reach outward to welcome others into your life. The joy comes in sharing a meal, working together toward a common end, or just simply enjoying each other's company in the space of Nature around you.
It is vitally important in creating community that people begin to share physical time and space and form real bonds around doing things together. It is these bonds that are the glue that hold people together in what can come to be known as community. It is through actual interaction that a community grows and expands, becoming stronger as the members allow themselves to know one another on more personal levels. We are each more than our job or the label placed upon us by the things we do. Underneath skin and bones, we are all the same -- humans, sharing energy and reflecting the Universe back at one another.
So, get out there! Join a new group, garden with your neighbors, meet the local people that share your town and neighborhood. Meet some of those internet friends in person. Get involved in something meaningful in your area. Your participation insures your own membership in the local scene of the place you have chosen to call home. Your involvement insures meaningful time spent in life and practice in relating to others on the physical plane rather than through an internet connection.
Through community, the American culture has a chance to redeem itself as we strive to help one another in these increasingly difficult times. As we get to know one another in meaningful ways, it becomes second nature to share our resources, which allows us to interact in the local economy and bypass the impersonal quagmire of the corporatocracy more often than not.
It all comes back around. Time is circular and the effort you put in today will be rewarded tomorrow. A community is like that circle -- a living, spinning, changing thing -- a web of give and take, pull and release, back and forth action -- reciprocity-- dependent on the whole, shared organism. We get what we put in.
Love to all.

Separation is an illusion (9.14.14)
Good morning. Happy Sunday.
I have felt alone. I have cried for the past. I have missed old friends and longed to see those who have gone away. Sometimes people move and others die. And in my sadness, I have realized they are still with me, where they have always been.
Separation is but an illusion. There is no distance in self. We are All One.
The illusion is born of the ego, who tells us we are important, separate beings.
Our uniqueness plays itself out as Spirit calls into our lives new experiences. As we experience, our thoughts become one with the Unified Consciousness and every experience is shared. But the personal twist is ours, held in the hands of ego and in the heart of unique Spirit that travels with us through time.
But time is also an illusion. There is no time. Only now. We believe we have a past, but can we be certain? Who was that person, for it is not us now. "No man ever steps into the same river twice." ~Heraclitus
The truth is that our Spirit is the only real part of us. Our Spirit is but a piece of the Whole, one cell in the organism that is All That Is.
It is a remarkable thing.
There is no separation. I am here. I am as you are. I am we.
Time and distance does not contain the massiveness of our shared energy. Nor does it keep us apart, for we are One, and nothing separates us but ego.
All One.
When we awaken to ourselves we will stop hating and hurting ourselves. We will dance the dance of joy filled with the energy of love as we circle back around to All That Is.
No, there is no separation. Not space. Not time. Not even death can separate us. For in death we are reunited with ourselves and the illusion is finally over as we shed ego once and for all and embrace ourselves as the Wholeness we always were.
As we live this time and space, let us enjoy our diversity and know it is an expression of Spirit as we try to remember ourselves. Embrace adventure and open the heart to everything. Do not fear emotion for it is the road that leads to self and introspection leads to Spirit and a bigger world than could ever be imagined.
When we walk the inner road, we find ourselves on the path to All That Is, and on that journey, we are joined as we recognize ourselves in everyone around us. We can never really be alone. It is not possible. The ego would tell us otherwise, but remember the ego is not real. The Spirit we see in the eyes of another---that is real. And that is our mirror, for they are us and we are them.
All One.
There is no separation. I am him. She is me.
Love to all.

Love (9.7.14)
Good morning. Happy Sunday.
Love to all.
The energy of the Universe is love. Love is the currency that binds All together.
Love should be expressed. When real, unconditional, spiritual love finds expression, joy is born and the heart and soul sing.
There is nothing wrong with the natural, physical expression of love between consenting people of legal age. It is not our business to judge what lovers do behind closed doors, for it is their personal and private expression of love for one another.
The mental and spiritual expression of love lends itself to prayer, to healing and to a divine relationship with self, with Nature and with Source.
Love flows through the Universe and into the human body through channels which lead to the energy center, the heart. Love also flows outward from an individual through the same channels. The heart is the epicenter of this energy, not the brain, as was once thought. If love is blocked and not allowed to flow through the energy channels of the body and out into expression, illnesses within the body and mind may occur.
If love is allowed to flow freely between beings as well as into the world, a harmonious energy is achieved. Equilibrium results.
The plant thrives under the devoted loving attendance of its caregiver, be that human or Nature.
The human also thrives when love is directed toward them through acts of compassion and kindness.
As we express love, love returns to us threefold. Our lives gain meaning and joy through the giving and receiving of love.
Acts of love must be appropriate for both the giver and receiver, otherwise the love may prove to be misguided or misdirected and result in discomfort and emotional pain for all involved.
We must learn what real spiritual love is and not be taken in by false acts of love which are really expressions of ego. The lustful person is caught up in pure ego and has mistaken acts of desire for real love. The controlling person who acts to protect themselves and/or others has lost sight of real, unconditional and spiritual love. There are endless examples, to be sure, of individuals, or even groups of people, who are mistaken in their interpretation and expression of love.
Love does not control or contain. It guides and nurtures, allowing exponential growth as the energy is replicated and returned.
Love heals. Let us all create more love in our lives. Give and receive.
Love to all.

What???? 8.31.14
Good morning. Happy Sunday.
Peace. Love. Practice tolerance for one another.
We are all One.
Mother Earth cries as we kill each other, as we destroy all of her children, as we rape her and take from her over and over again.
What are these "resources" that are more important than life?
We humans are energy gluttons, feeding until there is no more. Killing for whatever we can get our hands on. Feed the energy machine. Feed the electronics that make the world go round. Do they? Do they really?
For what would we do without our video games, teaching our children that violence is acceptable? What would we do without our "entertainment"-- the horror and violent films and novels that we can never get enough of? The sex, the hate, the killing, the consumerism, the us against them?
Who are we without our labels?
The world is our mirror. Do we like what we see? It is a reflection of who we are. Primal, unevolved, lustful, savage, hateful, killing, competitive beasts.
We only get more of what we focus on. More hate. More war. More violence. More judgment. More killing. More fear. More separation.
But enough already. The Spirits are tired of the same old same old.
Today.
Today I will focus on love. Today I will practice forgiveness. Today I will tolerate those who are different from me. Today I will cry for ALL children lost in war and senseless killing. Today I will feel sadness for the lost souls who did not know better--who perpetuated the violence in their ignorance of love.
Today I will embrace my brother, my sister, that person who looks different, who believes different, who is me in disguise.
Today I will consume less. I will turn off the TV-- mindnumbing, brainwashing machine of destruction that teaches it is okay to kill, to fear, to hate.
Today I will practice silence in the arms of my Mother Nature and let her love wash over me, cleansing the American Culture from my pores.
Today I will reach for Father Sky and listen as he guides me to my future. I will release the past, cut the cords to those who no longer live with my soul and walk forward into healing.
Today I will observe the world around me with my mouth shut and my mind open. There will be no judgment, there will only be what is.
Today I will live in love and joy, peace and harmony with All That Is.
For today is a choice. This is what I choose. Now.
Love to all.

Natural beauty 8.24,14
Good day. Happy Sunday!
I hope everyone is enjoying the weather and spending time in Nature. The chamisa in bloom here is turning the desert a beautiful golden hue.
The colors of Nature are amazing.
Today we took a train ride into the mountains. It was incredibly green. There were so many trees. The wildflowers are in bloom and were an outstanding show of purples and yellows, white and pinks. Thankfully the trees are all still green. I can enjoy summer a little longer, I think.
Take a few minutes to stop and smell the roses and see the world around you. It is glorious in its natural beauty.
Love to all.

Chasing dreams 8.17.14
Good day. Happy Sunday.
This week I want to focus on expanding our minds and therefore expanding our souls toward reaching all that we can be.
I have heard several interviews this past week about what to do with one's life. Some are focused more on following one's dreams and passions, while others are more practical and directed toward finding something fulfilling that pays well.
So which is it?
If you are indeed lucky, you might actually get to do something you absolutely love as your work and get paid well for it too. But does that mean that the person who does not get paid well should just throw in the towel and give up the dream? What if you dreams involve working in a volunteer capacity to help as many people as you can? Mother Theresa comes to mind. I don't believe she cared a whole lot about being paid well and living a comfortable and luxurious life. Instead she gave of herself so that others would be comforted.
Personally, I'm all for following one's dreams, no matter what strange path they may lead you down. That is, after all, part of the adventure. If you decide to simplify and live as you need to, there should not be any reason why you can't pursue your passions, as long as all of your time and energy is not given to work that you hate so you can pay the bills for things that you don't really need. A big house? A fancy car? How many pairs of shoes doers one person really need?
Life is about choices. Ultimately it is each person's decision as to what they want to do with their life. A person could choose to follow their passion and live a much simpler life to do so. Think of starving artists. I'd have to say, that although it gets tiring always trying to make ends meet, the freedom to create far exceeds the minor discomforts of life. A lot of artistic people choose smaller dwellings, choosing instead to make the focus of their life on being creative. Their small homes are usually quite beautiful and reflect their artistic personalities very well.
It is time to expand our minds and allow the paradigm change to take root. It is not all about the money. Life is so much more than all of the things you can surround yourself with. Maybe the new dreams involve not only following your true calling, but allowing yourself to be open to experiencing more relationships with people you come into contact with. Share the love.
Yes, follow your dreams. Walk the high road to the inner self. Meet people and learn from them. Love them. Experience those relationships fully. Find joy in self and others and share it. Do the things you enjoy and love to do. It feeds the spirit and keeps your soul alive.
Don't let anyone tell you that you have to settle for a job you don't like. Maybe it's just a stepping stone on your way to someplace else, and that's fine. But, don't give up your dreams. Life is far too short to throw away on some nine to five, cubicle dwelling occupation that simply pays the mortgage.
What is your spirit telling you? Listen to your heart and open yourself to endless possibilities. Anything is possible. You create it all. Think of that. And then think of a life you want to be in. Think of the perfect life. Dream a little every single day and you are one step closer to getting there. Believe it and watch the Universe unfold to allow your world to expand into the dream.
It can happen.
Love to all.

Appreciating the season 8.10.14
Good morning. Happy Sunday!
I think this is my favorite time of the year. No, I know it is.
August is the time when summer begins to fade into fall. The air gets just a little bit crisper, especially at night, but the days are still warm, and sometimes even hot. The flowers are all in full bloom, and Fall is beginning to show its colors too. The world outside (at least in North America) is a kaleidoscope of colors, kind of like a grand finale to the growing season.
Now is the time of harvest, as our gardens are beginning to bear fruit. There is no greater joy and sense of accomplishment than going out to pick ripe vegies from our own garden. It was an act of faith, the planting, the watering, the weeding, and now the results are in. Whether the garden was a huge success or just a few plants really took off, the harvest is still a happy moment as we bask in gratitude for the abundance before us. This is food we grew! With our own hands! And we will enjoy eating every single bite of that hard earned bounty.
Ah, yes, August. The month fades quickly into shorter days and cooler nights. The farm animals rest easier as they get some relief from the heat of summer. People rush to get their last days of vacation in before they are confronted with the new school season and the chaos of the coming year before them. Children play a little harder, not wanting to give up their summer freedom, but still secretly look forward to new clothes, new school supplies and the new friends they might meet as they begin another year of school.
I appreciate the changing of the seasons. I adore Indian Summers and drag my intellectual heels as Fall progresses into the cold winter days. The end of August is my joyful season to savor the things I love about the warm weather. I take the time to smell the flowers and imprint the images and colors of a lush garden upon my mind. These are the images that will carry me through the winter days and keep me looking forward to the next year and the coming Spring.
What a beautiful time we get to experience! Enjoy the warmth, the color, the fresh air and the moments. Be grateful for the opportunities that present themselves and enjoy the abundance as the harvest comes in.
Love a little, laugh a little, and live a lot!
Tonight there is a full moon, presenting itself for our appreciation. Bask in the moonlight as you relish the summer days, and enjoy the summer nights. Bring joy to one another and feel the connection to All That Is.
Love to all.

Energy and cleansing 8.3.14
Good Morning. Happy Sunday!
Today I'd like to send you a wave of love and positive energy!
We are all made of energy. The Universe is built on energy. All Things are energy in one form or another. Energy is our real currency, and we exchange energy in many ways throughout the day. We output physical energy as we move and work and get things done. We take in energy as we breathe, and eat and our body turns that oxygen and food into energy to do more physical activities. It takes energy to think, to dream, to communicate. We have emotional energy that we share and that we take in from others. If we do absolutely nothing, we are still taking in energy...and we are also releasing energy back into the world. Every thought is an energy form.
Energy is everywhere. And we can accumulate it within our physical and spiritual selves. But is it energy we want to keep? Some energy is good, like love and joy, and we bask in the lift it bring us. But some energy is not so good and it actually feels as if we are being dragged down by negative energy that comes into our lives and into our selves--energy like anger and jealousy, judgement and meanness.
As energy builds up, are you aware of ways to release unwanted negative energies?
There are many methods to release pent up energy and purge yourself of unwanted negative energies that are bringing you down.
This morning I'd like to share one cleansing ritual my children and I have been practicing when we take walks. It's simple, it's easy, and it's kind of fun too.

This morning I'd like to share one cleansing ritual my children and I have been practicing when we take walks. It's simple, it's easy, and it's kind of fun too.
Cleansing walk
As you begin your walk, pick up a pebble from the road or somewhere nearby. It can be any stone that calls to you. I often pick white quartz, because it has a tendency to absorb energy, and because it is readily available. (Quartz can be found almost anywhere and is one of the most prolific rocks in the USA. Quartz is the best choice for collecting negative energy from your spiritual body.)
As you walk, rub the stone between your fingers, allowing all of your negative thoughts and feelings to go into the stone. You can also just hold the stone, or even put it in your pocket. I find that if I have a physical connection to the rock I am more aware of actively transferring my negative energy into it.
Walk for thirty minutes if you can. This gives you exercise as well as allowing your stone time to absorb the negative energies you have been carrying with you. At the end of your walk, thank the stone and give it back to the Earth, where the negative energies will be absorbed back into the soil and neutralized by the grounding properties of the Earth. Thank Mother Earth for taking, absorbing and neutralizing all those negative thoughts and feelings.
For a few minutes, focus on good feelings...the clean, fresh air, your good health, everything you are grateful for, the abundance in your life and the love and compassion you can share each day. Fill yourself with good feelings and positive energy to replace the negative energy that has now left your energetic body.
Next time you go for a walk, pick a different stone, if you can, and do the ritual again. You can also allow your original stone a period of rest to let the negative energies time to be absorbed into the earth. Leaving the stone out, under the sun and the moon for a day or two will cleanse it. Here are some other methods to cleanse your stone, but this ritual was meant to be spontaneous and simple, so keep it easy enough that you will want to do it often.
This cleansing walk works for daily walks or as often as you are able, giving your energetic self a chance to cleanse and get ready for a new day or week. ~
Enjoy your cleansing walks.
Love to all!

Green Desert Sanctuary 7.27.14
Good morning. Happy Sunday!
Another hard week, and I have to say, it is getting to me. At one point (yesterday) I considered, and even went so far as to write and post a blog giving up the church farm blog. I later deleted it, because I am not absolutely sure that is the right path to follow.
So here I am, stuck in this dark place, wondering how do I pull myself out? Certainly the petty concerns of living off grid in a camper are bringing me down while I forget to look at the bigger picture and focus on the goals.
What are the goals? I ask myself. Why are we here? The Horse led me here, but then it seems I was left alone to figure it out myself. The spirits have been quiet, but maybe I am not communicating with them either. It is always a two way street and communication takes both parties. I will try harder.
When we envisioned ourselves in this place, we saw an oasis in the desert, built from our hands, hard work and lots of love given to the Earth, to one another and to the plants and animals we bring into this space. We never anticipated the roadblocks we would encounter, or that the money would run out, or that we would not be able to get shelters built before winter set in. Sure, we knew it would be hard, be we didn't really understand how difficult it is for four people to live in such a tiny space, with little privacy or alone time.
And still, we want to retrofit a cabin/shed into a tiny house, knowing we will have to overcome and work out our issues with each other. It is a teachable/learn-able situation and I am grateful for the opportunity to become stronger and more compassionate with myself and with others. I do worry that I will even be able to do this thing.
We are growing Industrial Hemp, because we believe this one plant has the ability to save the planet and mankind. It can provide energy, building materials, food, medicine, clothing, bedding, fuel, and on and on the list goes. It is a miraculous plant that comes to us in dire times, when we need it most. I'd like to see everyone growing hemp. It neutralizes the carbon we are putting out into the atmosphere. If we let it, and use hemp as intended, we can turn this train wreck (humanities eminent extinction) around. Lets' be honest though and take the ego out of the equation, and fear along with it. Cannabis (yes the THC variety) also has many, many beneficial uses, the most important possibly is its ability to cure dis-ease. It also brings people closer to spirit and closer to each other in a path of love and harmony.
I had hoped that our Eco-based environmental church would begin to take off, but honestly, I'm not sure where to start with that. Perhaps we should hold some kind of ceremony here and invite local people to come and participate. That presents yet another problem. I am an introvert and am afraid of drawing much attention to myself. I am not sure why I feel called to create this church, except that my love of this planet far exceeds my fears (at least in the abstract). I have been disillusioned by religion for most of my life and could not reconcile my disbelief of most western religions with my desire to live a spiritual life.
Now, I understand the focus of the belief is less important than how people actually live their lives. I'm not concerned with what god figure people worship, as long as we all learn to live in love and have compassion for one another and for our Mother Earth. Drastic changes have to be made if humanity is to move forward into the next generations. I do not want to leave my children with this sick and unhappy planet. I do not want to leave my children with the monumental task of cleaning up after previous generations who were so eager to deplete the planet of all resources at any costs. At any costs.
I began this church, and Richard lends his support, in the hope that people could turn their spirituality into one that includes and perhaps focuses on healing the planet we live on. We must learn how to live in harmony with nature, and yes, that also includes living in harmony with each other. All people have equal value. I don't care where you live or what you do. I don't care about your past and the future is untold. Everyone writes their own story. I do care about my children (all children are my children, as they are yours) having a future with clean air, clean water, clean food and a beautiful place to live. I care about transforming this world of hate and competition into one of love and compassion. I do care about teaching everyone to live more simply and take less from our Mother Earth. I do care about the survival of the human species, as well as the thousands of other species mankind is pushing to extinction. I do care about the plants being pure and natural and about the food we eat being chemical free and unaltered from the form Nature intended it to take.
This church is my attempt to bring people together--people who also feel the strong pull to make a difference and a change as humanity moves forward. This is a church based in love--love for all people and all things, including the Earth, the Universe, and All That Is. This church is a sanctuary for people to just come and be and learn and teach and do what small things we can to heal each other and the Earth we live on. This church exists online to join people together who are not in physical proximity, but still want to form a fellowship around Eco-spirituality. This church exists in the physical to allow people to join together to learn and teach and experiment with methods that will help humanity learn to live in harmony with Nature. This church exists to serve as a reminder that the Earth is our Mother and without our precious, life-giving and life-sustaining planet, we have nothing left. We will all simply cease to be, and as humanity walks itself down the road to extinction, it will not be pleasant. There will be suffering, there will be so much pain and unhappiness. There will be countless, unnecessary loss of life. It does not have to be this way. This church is just one small effort to lend my own energy, and anyone else's energy who wants to join, to this monumental effort to save the planet and to save humanity from itself.
Join me. Join us. Together we can make a difference. Together we can learn how to live and move forward with our focus on love and compassion and living in harmony with respect for our Great Mother Earth.
Become a part of Green Desert Sanctuary. Lend your voice to our cause. Teach us. Come and learn with us. Let us be One in our efforts and let us share our good energy as we work towards creating a planet of love and compassion where clean air, clean water, clean food, adequate shelter, and education are available to all. These are human rights, for all peoples everywhere.
