Time does not stand still and wait for me.
No matter how I long for a few more minutes to enjoy a special moment, or how I wish the day had more hours to get things done, the hands of time do not sit idly by. No, indeed they march ever onward.
I used to think time was my enemy. It moved too slow. It moved too fast. Sometimes it did not move at all.
As I have grown older and my body has changed to reflect my age, oftentimes I still feel like a child, lost in an adult's body. Is this really me, I ask, when I am courageous enough to look in the mirror. I slightly regret that my body continues to grow older while my inner self never changes much at all. My spirit has no age. My spirit does not wait for time to catch up. My spirit knows what I do not, as I remain ignorant and feel each second tick tocking by.
I have decided to befriend my old enemy Time. It is my shadow and only progresses as I allow. Time is not even real. It is a construct of the human mind that needs borders to constrain. Security, as the clock reminds us of life passing? No, acknowledging time only deludes us into believing in this make believe dream where for a minute we are life embodied in human form. Spirit with borders.
Time is nothing at all--a plaything as Spirit dances and experiences life.
Life is energy caught in the physical, but energy is eternal. Time does not exist. Time is my imaginary friend. I am energy and I create each moment, each second. I create time. I love that.
I will try to consciously live in the Now and experience eternity in each second I create. I have all of the time I need...for now.
Have a great moment and a great day!
Love to all.

Moral Compass (5.18.14)
Good morning. Happy Sunday!
This past week, my kids and I have been learning about maps in our homeschooling education, so I thought I would explore the ideas of having a moral compass and defining where we are in relation to where we want to be.
Having a moral compass allows us to find ourselves in the chaos that is the world we live in. Your conscience is that little voice inside that alerts you to what is good or bad and tries to keep you operating from a pretty honest and good place. We all have it. I suppose everyone's moral compass may have a different set point, a different true north, but we all have a pretty good idea of what is right and wrong.
The past few weeks I have encountered folks who feel the need to remind me of who they are, where they stand. It's as if their actions are in question so they have to alert me to the fact that they are those things they claim to be. It's ironic how it never occurred to me that they might not be who they are claiming, until their ego starts talking, and I realize ego does not necessarily speak from a place of honesty. Ego is about ego and nothing more.
To me, integrity is about being honest, not only with others, but with oneself as well. Your actions should speak for themselves without any need to draw attention to your good deeds or defining characteristics.
It is not good enough to wander around telling others how "honest" you are or how "hard working" you are, or of all of the good deeds you have done. All of those things are interpreted through ego...your ego. What is real is your action or state of being that speaks for itself without your own commentary.
Have you ever met someone who makes claims on their own character that later turn out to simply not be true? I have found that the more people speak from ego about their own good virtues, the more work they have to dedicate to those things. It's the spirits way of drawing attention to something we wish we had or were but are not quite there yet.
When someone tells me how "honest" they are, immediately a red flag goes up in my mind. Why would they need to tell me that? Shouldn't their actions speak for themselves? Shouldn't everyone be coming from a place of integrity and impeccability with their word? In his book The Four Agrements, don Miguel Ruiz explains impeccability. (Here is a summary of the Four Agreements by don Miguel Ruiz.)
I wish it were true, that all people were coming from a place of integrity, but it does not appear to be. People live in an illusion that they are one way ( looking through ego eyes) when in fact they are not quite there yet. But it is all good, for when your ego is going on about how "good" you are, this gives you a real opportunity to examine your inner self and find out if indeed these things are true. They can be. There is nothing getting in the way, except for self--ego.
One's word should be impeccable, and should stand for itself. One's actions should also be impeccable and done with the best intentions, with love.
In a spiritual world, there is no need to convince others of your virtues because they should stand out in the integrity of your character.
I cannot think of a single spiritual master who prefaced a talk or good deed with words from his ego. For example, did Jesus (or the Buddha, or the Dalai Lama) walk around telling people what a good man he was, what an honest and kind man he was? Or did his actions explain all of those things and more?
If our ego is drawing attention to personal characteristics, it is time to examine self and define who we want to be and who we want to present to the world and the rest of humanity. And then simply be that. There is no need to go on about it, just do it. Be the person you want to be. Be the person you admire. Be the person your spirit is guiding you toward. Redefine your moral compass. Who says you can't give your compass a tune up and relocate your true north to love, truth, integrity?
Looking at this from another direction, perhaps when we come across someone who tells us who they are, for example, "I am honest," then perhaps this also serves as a mirror so that we can look at them and see how honest we are. Or whatever the claim may be. Everyone and everything has the opportunity to be our teacher. Let us learn from the people and the world around us.
Integrity. Let our moral compasses guide us in the direction of love and kindness and we will always do the right thing. Be impeccable with your word and be true in your actions.
Love to all.

Happy Mother's Day! (5.11.14)
Good Morning. Happy Sunday!
Happy Mother's Day to all of the Mothers out there, including our Mother Earth.
Mothers give us life and sustain us as we reach out to the world and become who we are meant to be. Our great Mother Earth holds us in her nurturing arms and supports us through everything we endure, providing food, shelter and other life forms for us to interact with. Pretty awesome and amazing.
If we, as humanity, could practice the same unconditional love and unwavering support to our own children, whether they are ours by birth or by proximity, it might be possible to see some of the pain of the world reduced. Everyone needs a mother. Everyone, at some point, needs to be taken care of, from the helpless infant state to periods of illness and general malaise, it helps if we have a mother figure in our lives to lend a loving hand when we need it.
Unfortunately, not everyone has a biological mother or mother figure in their lives. In some cases, mothers aren't able to give their time and love in ways that nurture others. It is what it is. There are plenty of nurturing women out there, and even some men, who are willing and able to give of themselves to others in a supportive and loving way-- unconditional love that does not depend on anything else, just the state of being.
Today, and this week, let us thank and spend time with the women who love us and nurture us, our mothers, and let's also acknowledge the nontraditional mother figures who have guided us in our lives, be they men (fathers, brothers, uncles and friends) or others (teachers, aunts, sisters, neighbors, friends) who have supported us in our times of need.
A mother can take any form, including the form of a mountain or a forest, and the greatest form of all, our Planet and our Universe.
Feel the love that surrounds you now, enveloping you in unconditional bliss and joy that is yours to experience. The Universe supports you in all things. This is one Mother that won't, and that can't ever let you down. When we look at at our experiences, we know that underneath everything that happens, there is a loving presence that never wavers. This is our Mother, our Source, our God.
Find within yourself that love, that ability to be kind and nurture other living beings and share it. Honor your Mothers and honor the Mother within.
Have a loving day.
Love to all.

Industrial Hemp is not marijuana!
Marijuana is not Industrial Hemp. Industrial Hemp is not marijuana. Industrial Hemp has little to no THC and will not make you high no matter how hard you try. In fact, the Industrial Hemp plant will render any marijuana plants within 3 kilometers useless!!! They will cross pollinate and turn them into marijuana plants with little to no THC.

International Permaculture Day (5.4.14)
Good morning. Happy Sunday!
Today is International Permaculture Day. Wouldn't it be nice if more people studied and put into practice the Permaculture Principles?
What if we could learn to live together amicably, grow our own food, heal the environment and begin to create a sustainable future?
We can, of course, one person at a time. Permaculture Design ideas lend themselves to a paradigm that sustains life and creates harmony on Earth.
And, once you begin implementing Peramculture into your own life (and backyard) it doesn't stop. You will find it more exciting to plant a food forest than the typical till and plant garden of yesteryears. Each season, as you add new plants to your garden, you will be rewarded by watching the interactions of the plants with each other. Certain plants, when planted together (companion planting) support each other by giving one another what they need to thrive in particular environments.
That sounds like something humans should be doing too. We should be helping one another to thrive in our environments. How can we do this? Get involved. Join a community garden. Be of service. As we begin to participate with our neighbors we will find symbiotic relationships forming in our own communities. As these relationships flourish, we will find a model of community sustainability beginning to build and form around these relationships.
How do we start? Start reading and growing, both yourself and your gardens. Begin to learn about Permacluture and the ideas this paradigm puts forth. And no, you don't have to take a Permaculture Design Course for hundreds of dollars to get started. There are so many books out there on this subject now, you can learn everything you need by visiting your local library. And share your knowledge. Start some community discussions around Permaculture and help one another.
Permaculture seems to be the new fad in the gardening world, but a good one. If we all put some of the ideas into practice, we could be that much closer to making a real difference in the environment, and start supporting our own needs by planting food around our homes. Permaculture aims to make gardening easier on an individual and in so doing, makes gardening easier on the planet too.
Happy Permaculture Day! Join the Permaculture revolution and start planting!
Love to all.
